Charcoal
(and the occasional ink)
Pared back through the medium of charcoal, black marks join together to form an image on a pale surface. At times I have looked for a third element through language and worked with writer Lucy Beevor to create responses with her haiku writings. These writings become a landscape background and narrative in which the image sits.
